Anyone who loves to sing, possesses a clear and in-tune voice, and can make a commitment to attend rehearsals regularly is welcome to join the chorus. Auditions are not necessary except for the soloists. The chorus rehearses on Sunday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church, 2000 Ptarmigan Trail, from mid-September until the winter concert and from mid-January until the spring concert. A good way to get to know the other chorus members and the conductor, Kathy Bowers, D.M.A., is to come to the Summer Sings sight-reading sessions (see under Summer Sings). For more information and to get on the e-mail list for notifications, please call Kathy Bowers at 970-586-5193 or Jackie Reed at 970-586-1022.
Any string player is similarly welcome to join the orchestra, whether a professional musician, a student, or a retiree who wants to brush up on his/her earlier intermediate or advanced skills. We always need more strings. Brass and woodwind players are often needed too, but only as required by the music being programmed for any particular concert. The orchestra rehearses on Monday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 pm usually at the Town Hall in rooms 202-3 from mid-September until the winter concert and from mid- January until the spring concert. For more information and to get on the e-mail list for notifications, please call Kathy Bowers at 970-586-5193 or Lynette Johnson at 970-586-2192.
